I was asked to create a commemorative figure of a bear family from a piece of wood according to the provided pattern.
It’s a very charming project. I used a sturdy 30-millimeter oak board for it.
In the process, I had the opportunity to test how a laser behaves when attempting to cut such a special material. My predictions proved accurate. Engraving the contours and inscriptions went smoothly without any problems. However, despite using the maximum laser power and three passes, the cutting only reached about 6 mm.
I precisely cut the shape of the figure with a jigsaw and refined everything with files and a grinder.
Fortunately, I was only tasked with cutting the entire shape around the perimeter. If I had to cut individual bears, it would have been a very challenging task.
